At Kuyper, all our learning programs endeavour to lead students towards responsible and responsive discipleship of Jesus Christ. So it is always a joy to see our students taking the initiative to foster a cooperative servant-hearted community.
Yesterday, a Secondary student-driven and student-led Dance Group for Primary students commenced at lunchtime. The initiative was met with great enthusiasm from Primary students, and we are looking forward to seeing the finished performance at our next Celebration assembly.
Later in the day, Year 9 & 10 PASS students conducted a fun sports afternoon for all students in K-2. Secondary students led small groups of children through a series of engaging, age-appropriate sports activities they had designed and created. Enormous fun was had by all.
The passion, organisation and fostering of community over individualism of the Secondary students involved in these activities is a gift to our school community.
WHOK on Kuyper!

Tayla said it was her best sports day ever! 🥰

Today our Prep to Year 6 students participated in the Primary School Waste Education Program.
This interactive program is part of Hawkesbury City Council’s waste education plan. It aims to educate students on the impact of waste generation and disposal on the environment and explores practical methods to minimise waste.
Thank you, Mitch & Amy, our presenters, for helping our students consider rubbish wisely. Even our youngest learners contributed to thinking about how they can live in God’s world responsibly. WHOK on Kuyper!

Stage 3 enjoyed a busy, informative and fun day this week being hosted by Madam Mayor McMahon, several Councillors and Council Staff at the Hawkesbury Council Junior Leadership Program.
Local Councillors presented a range of engaging activities for students to learn more about Australian democracy, forms of government and Local Government in particular. A number of local schools were present, and our Stage 3 students were a credit to their parents and our school.
Students enjoyed a delicious lunch at Macquarie Park and loved the playground! A good day was had by all, for which we are very thankful.

The Faithfull’s will be there

Today saw the launch of our new Secondary Service Teams, and the high school was a-buzz with activity. The service teams provide an opportunity for students to learn a new skill, and all Secondary students are involved in a team of their choice.
Thirteen service teams kicked off this morning, ranging from barista training to mural painting to clearing weeds from the bush. The teams are a great way for Secondary students to live their learning by using their skills to serve the school and our local community.
Service Teams will meet three times each term. Be on the lookout for their contributions to our school community.
