Kuyper Christian School has an Association of Christian parents and community members from which a Board of Directors is elected. It is the responsibility of the Association to ensure that the school continues to teach and operate from a biblical perspective. The elected School Board is legally responsible for the governance of the school. Together, the School Association and the Board provide oversight for the school to ensure that it remains true to its Mission. All members of the Association and Board function in a voluntary capacity and have a responsibility to serve the school community with an attitude of selfless care.

The Principal is appointed by the Board and is responsible for the implementation of the School Mission, the day to day running of the school, and oversight of all operational aspects.

This governance model sets Kuyper apart from other government or church run schools.

Meet our Board Members

Wayne Speirs

Wayne attends Richmond Anglican Church and works as a commercial & residential loan broker. Wayne and his wife Vivienne have been part of the Kuyper community since 2000. All five children have graduated from Kuyper, their youngest graduating in 2023. Wayne has served on the Board for over 10 years and is currently the Board Chair.

“It is a privilege to serve the Lord and our community in continuing the vision of the school founders. My family has been blessed through our connection with Kuyper and I am passionate about supporting authentic Christian education both at Kuyper and nationally.”

Graeme Wilson

Graeme attends Kurrajong & North Richmond Anglican Church, and operates his own building business. Graeme and his wife Julie have been involved at Kuyper since the mid 80's. They are convinced of the value of a Christ-centred education where home and school work in partnership to nurture children and honour God. All three of their children attended Kuyper and are now married with children of their own. Graeme has served the school board for over 20 years. He is currently Board Treasurer.

Peter Hamilton

Peter attends Richmond Anglican Church and works as an ASX day trader. The Hamilton family joined the Kuyper community in 2012. They currently have one child in High School and one in Primary School. Peter has been serving on the Board for 10 years.

“I am thoroughly convinced that Christian education is an essential element in raising children to know and follow Jesus. In addition to the education we offer at home, we are very blessed to have the staff at Kuyper both educate and role-model genuine faith to our children. I am privileged to serve on the Board and be part of maintaining the vision of making a Christ-centred education available to all who seek it.”

Craig Spillane

Craig attends Richmond Anglican Church and works as the On-Site Caretaker at the local Guide Dogs Centre. The Spillanes have been part of the Kuyper community since 2011. Both their children attended Kuyper to graduation. Their eldest child is currently working as a Teacher's Aide at Kuyper while she studies. Craig has been serving on the Board for 7 years.

“I am grateful to God for establishing Kuyper Christian School many years prior to our family joining, and the wonderful blessing it has been for our children to be educated in a Christ-centred community that is in partnership with us. I joined the Board to maintain the vision of a Christian educational community, grounded in the reformed evangelical worldview that has been such a strong foundation for this school from the start.”

Sharon Sinfield

Sharon attends Richmond Anglican Church and works as a Disability Support Worker, providing assistance for people living at home. All three of Sharon’s children attended Kuyper from Kindergarten and are now working and pursuing tertiary studies. Sharon has served on the Board for over 10 years.

“I have really valued the Christ-centred education at Kuyper, and the partnership between family and school. This would never have been available to us had it not been for the vision and dedication of the original Association and Board members. I want to ensure that Christian education is available for families in the Hawkesbury well into the future.”
