Community is Precious
At Kuyper, we seek to be a thriving educational community. At times this seems to happen naturally; at other times it requires more deliberate effort.

Hannah and Ella have been outstanding representatives of Kuyper at CSSA Basketball events, consistently demonstrating skill, determination, and excellent sportsmanship. We are delighted to see them given the opportunity to represent the Hawkesbury community on this larger stage.

βοΈπ Primary Chess Competition πβοΈ
On Tuesday, 2 June, the Kuyper Primary Chess Team represented our school at the NSW Primary School Hawkesbury Regional Chess Competition.
Students each played six games in a packed hall, alongside competitors from 13 other schools, all vying for the opportunity to represent the Hawkesbury region at the next level. While our young players did not win the overall competition on the day, they played well, gained valuable experience, developed their strategic thinking, and grew in confidence.
We were encouraged to see how our students embraced both the challenges and rewards of the experience, with many finishing the day already eager to return and represent Kuyper again next year. Go team Kuyper! π

πββοΈπββοΈ CSSA State Cross Country πββοΈπββοΈ
With fabulous weather and a great atmosphere, 36 Kuyper students aged 8β18 represented our school at the CSSA State Cross Country Championships on Friday at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Horsley Park.
Kuyper competed as part of the CSSA Metropolitan West Zone, which brings together athletes from eight schools across the region. Some of our Secondary competitors proudly wore the orange and blue Met-West Zone singlets, representing both their zone and our school.
We were delighted to see so many of our students step up to take part in this event. With almost 20% of eligible students qualifying and competing. Whether achieving a personal best, tackling a challenging course, or cheering on teammates, we congratulate our students for honouring those they competed alongside by striving wholeheartedly themselves.
Special congratulations to Mason for finishing in the top 12% of his age group!

Well done everyone and congratulations to Mason!

βοΈ βThe heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.β β Psalm 19:1
This week, our Year 5 & 6 students spent time thinking about something we experience every day, but perhaps do not stop to wonder at often enough β the Sun. πβοΈ
As part of their Earth and Space unit, students explored just how enormous the Sun is compared to the Earth, and how perfectly positioned our planet is to sustain life. Together, they discussed the remarkable reality that even small changes in the Earthβs position or distance from the Sun would dramatically affect life as we know it.
How wonderful is the majesty, wisdom and power of our Creator!
To bring their learning to life, students even experimented with solar cooking, harnessing the sunβs energy in a hands-on way while enjoying the incredible world God has made for us to explore. π«πͺ
