Monday 8 April
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to inform you about the potential disruptions to our upcoming school day due to challenges in road and bridge accessibility in the Hawkesbury caused by recent flooding. I want to assure you that we have a comprehensive contingency plan in place to ensure that learning can continue effectively.
The school premises will be open to students who can safely attend. There will be supervision (not direct teaching) for students on site.
Supervision and Classwork for students in Kindergarten – Year 3
- Supervision will be provided, although formal classes will not be held.
- Teachers will email parents some helpful worksheets for children at home to complete.
Supervision and Classwork for students in Year 4 – Year 10
- For all students in Year 4 – Year 10, classes will be conducted online through Google Classroom. This will allow students to access their coursework and continue learning either at school or from the safety of their homes.
- Students attending school will complete their work under supervision.
Supervision and Classwork for students in Year 11 – Year 12
- Students in Years 11 and 12 are expected to come to school as needed for examinations in the morning. Any student who cannot attend the examination must email Mr Cavens on mcavens@kuyper.nsw.edu.au before 9 am on Monday morning.
- For all students, afternoon classes will be conducted online through Google Classroom. This will allow students to access their coursework and continue learning either at school or from the safety of their homes.
Changes to Events
- The Vanuatu Information Session will now be facilitated via Google Meet. Those attending the session will receive a link tomorrow.
- The Growing Great Readers Program is postponed until next term.
Kuyper Bus
- The Kuyper bus service will not be operational tomorrow.
Busways buses
- Though we are yet to receive official communication, we expect that Busways buses will not be operational tomorrow. We will inform parents as soon as we are aware of a decision.
We understand these changes may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Our priority is to ensure the safety of everyone in our school community while minimising interruptions to your child’s education.
